Senior Legal Counsel, Tieto Banktech (m/f/d)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our commercial legal team at Tieto Banktech. In this role, you will act as a trusted legal advisor to our business units, providing comprehensive legal support across our banking technology operations.

Key responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including software licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, implementation agreements, professional services contracts, and partnership agreements.
Lead complex contract negotiations with customers, vendors, and partners across multiple jurisdictions.
Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks for handling contract risks.
Provide strategic legal advice to business stakeholders on day-to-day commercial matters.
Partner with sales, product, and delivery teams to structure deals that balance business objectives with legal risk management.
Manage and resolve disputes, working with internal stakeholders and external counsel as needed.
Develop and deliver legal training for business teams on topics such as contract fundamentals and risk management.

Qualifications

Law degree and qualified to practice law in Norway.
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant legal experience from reputable law firm or in-house legal department preferably in the technology or financial sectors.
Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
Experience with banking technology or financial regulatory framework.
Experience working in cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
