Take Responsibility – The Position: IP Legal Counsel
Based in Ålesund, the IP Counsel / Legal Counsel is responsible for protecting and supporting Stokke’s global intellectual property (IP) rights and ensuring legal compliance across a variety of business activities. This role plays a central part in enforcing Stokke’s IP strategy, supporting commercialization opportunities, and participating in a range of legal issues relevant to an international brand.
You will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, external legal advisors, and partners to manage IP enforcement, strengthen internal understanding of IP compliance, and provide legal counsel across commercial and corporate matters.
Key Responsibilities:
IP Protection and Enforcement
Drive the implementation of Stokke’s IP strategy, with a focus on protecting products during production, marketing, and sale
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external legal partners to address IP infringements
Support internal documentation and development of proof of use in relation to Stokke’s IP portfolio and enforcement cases
Portfolio Management and Commercialization
Support management of the global IP portfolio (existing and new)
Assist in commercial initiatives such as IP licensing, partnerships, and IP-related transactions
Participate in establishing strategies to enhance the value and reach of Stokke’s IP assets
Legal Support and Cross-Functional Engagement
Support the Legal Department in legal matters beyond labor law, including contract, competition, marketing, privacy, product liability, and corporate law
Prepare and lead internal IP trainings and policy development
Strategic Projects and Reporting
Take ownership of department-related projects and cross-functional legal initiatives, as agreed with the General Counsel
Contribute to Global Leadership Team projects as needed
Report activities and legal updates in accordance with department standards

Experience Required:
6 + Years of Experience in IP-related legal work for international brands
Hands-on expertise with trademark, patent, design, copyright, and unfair competition issues
Solid working knowledge of business law (including contracts, competition, and corporate matters)
Special Requirements:
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Excellent analytical skills with a structured and detail-oriented mindset
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Action-oriented and self-driven
Comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively to team goals
