ABB’s Legal and Integrity team is now looking for a new Legal Counsel. The legal department acts as a proactive and strategic business partner, and provides legal advice to the companies in the ABB group operating out of Norway.
This position will mainly support ABB’s business within the energy industries. This is a global business related to high profile energy projects within oil and gas, offshore wind, power generation, metals, and infrastructure.
In this role you will provide legal advice on a wide range of matters. An important part of the work will be to review, draft, and negotiate a variety of complex contracts, such as fabrication contracts, EPC-contracts, technology developments, licensing agreements, consortiums, and other cooperation agreements.
Your responsibilities
Develop close working relationships with the internal customers including the management
Multiple jurisdictions and cross border legal support
Support business units in managing contractual claims, hereunder liaise and defend litigation matters brought against ABB using relevant external experts
Actively drive and implement the compliance/integrity Group program
Create awareness and provide training to employees on contractual matters
Your background
Master of Laws from a Norwegian University
At least 5 years’ working experience in a major corporation or leading law firm
High ethical standard
As Legal Counsel you are self-motivated and able to progressively work with autonomy
You know that to succeed in the role, being efficient and structured is important
You thrive on working in a hectic environment and have a large working capacity
You have good interpersonal and collaborative skills and are motivated by providing practical legal advice and sharing your knowledge
You communicate well in English and think working in a global organization is exciting
